SkivateS ointment contains Clobetasol and Salicylic Acid which belongs to corticosteroids and a keratolytic group of drugs. The former drug works as an anti-inflammatory by inhibiting the metabolism of arachidonic acid by inhibiting phospholipase A2 thus inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes. The latter drug works by breaking down keratin clumps and further remove dead skin cells and softens the skin. Also, it increases the Clobetasol absorption into the skin.

Application:

SkivateS Ointment: A thin film of SkivateS Ointment should be applied to cover completely the affected area. The ointment should be massaged gently and thoroughly into the skin. The usual frequency of application is twice daily, in the morning and at night.

For some patients, adequate maintenance may be achieved with less frequent application.

SkivateS Ointment should not be used under occlusive dressing.

Children below 12 years should not use it at all. Make sure that you do not apply the ointment on your face, groin or underarms, unless mentioned by the doctor. You should not discontinue the medication suddenly and seek the help of a doctor before doing so.

Clobetasol  Propionate 0.05% w/w and Salicylic Acid 3% w/w

Side Effects:

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
